We know it’s easy just to buy that $2 plastic pumpkin basket at the grocery store, but there’s likely something in your home that can double as a trick-or-treat bag. Your reusable grocery bag, that over-sized purse, or our personal favorite, an old pillow case!
Buy candy in bulk or candy with less packaging.
Use reusable cups and plates for your Halloween party. Just stick them all in the dishwasher at the end of the night. Stress free and less waste!
Store-bought Halloween costume are often made from non-recyclable petro-chemical based plastic and synthetic fibers. Those Halloween costumes can include one of the scariest plastics–polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a soft plastic and known carcinogen that releases harmful toxins in its creation and breakdown. Avoid these toxic Halloween costumes and go for a green Halloween costume made of natural fabrics and materials.
