We are overjoyed that the battle to keep Liberty State Park free and green has been won! Because of YOU, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) announced they are abandoning their privatization plans for Liberty State Park. We’re thankful for the 10,000 people who signed our online petition at www.savelsp.org. You’re voices were heard!
Special thanks to our co-leader in this battle, Sam Pesin, Friends of Liberty State Park, and our dedicated elected leaders including Mayor Fulop, Senators Cunningham, Stack, Weinberg, Sweeney, and Lesniak, Assemblymen Mukherji and Chiaravalloti, Assemblywomen Chaparro and McKnight, the Jersey City Council, and the Hudson County Board of Freeholders! This victory would not have been possible without you!
Join us for a victory party at the park on June 14th! This celebration is also for Liberty State Park’s 40th Birthday! Check back for details!
