Algae Blooms
NY/NJ Baykeeper has been receiving calls from citizens concerned about what they fear are oil spills. Algae blooms often occur in the spring but we suspect that this year’s blooms are earlier and larger because of the 11 billions of raw sewage that spilled in the NY/NJ Harbor during Superstorm Sandy.
