About the Proposed Pipeline Williams Transco has proposed a 23.4-mile, 26 inch diameter pipeline project to expand its existing Transco transmission system to transport natural gas from the Marcellus Shale region through Raritan Bay to New York. If built, the pipeline will disrupt YOUR fishing, boating. and recreational activities! A Golf Course Expansion at LSP’s Caven Point Natural Area Liberty National Golf Course submitted a proposal in response to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Request for Proposal (RFP) for outdoor amenities within the Caven Point property in Liberty State Park, right at the tail end of the Christie Administration. The Caven Point Peninsula is an irreplaceable state-registered Natural Area, behind Lady Liberty, providing critical urban habitat and unique environmental education opportunities. On January 4th, 2018 the Trump administration declared war 90% of US oceans targeted for drilling. Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke announced the next phase of President Trump’s new draft proposed 5-year (2019-2024) Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program. The plan includes opening the entire Atlantic Ocean from Maine to Florida for drilling including all of the Jersey Shore and NY’s South Shore and would allow rigs to come within 3 miles of beaches.
